On June 28, Audi FAW New energy Vehicle Project, the first pure electric vehicle production base in China, was officially started in Changchun International Automobile City. The project is jointly invested by Audi, Volkswagen China and FAW Group, with a total investment of 35 billion yuan and a standard production capacity of 150,000 units. The first phase, covering 1.54 million square meters with a building area of 600,000 square meters, is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2024, and is a major project during the 14th Five-Year Plan period of the country. The new factory is also Audi's first production base in China to fully implement the Audi global production network environment "zero emission program" production base, 100% use green electricity.
In early August, after fierce competition, Roda Sunroof officially won the bid for Audi's first vehicle project in China dedicated to pure electric vehicle production plant, including stamping workshop, welding workshop, painting workshop and battery workshop.
