The 2nd Building Fire Prevention Innovation Conference and Smoke Control Industry Promotion Conference were successfully held on September 21, 2023

        From September 17th to 19th, 2023, the Anti Smoke Industry Promotion Association of the Second Building Fire Innovation and Development Conference, jointly hosted by the Institute of Building Fire Protection of the Chinese Academy of Building Sciences, the Comprehensive Technical Branch of Building Fire Protection of the Chinese Society of Architecture, and the Building Fire Protection Professional Committee of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association, was grandly held in Beijing. As a leading enterprise in the industry, Roda Skylight was invited to host and participate in this conference.

        Director Zhang Xiaojun gave an opening speech and proposed, in light of the new situation facing the smoke control and exhaust industry at present, that effectively solving smoke control and exhaust problems is extremely important for doing a good job in fire safety inspection of construction projects. The second is to focus on solving the problem of smoke prevention and exhaust throughout the entire lifecycle with a pragmatic and innovative spirit. Thirdly, we will work together to overcome difficulties and create a new situation for fire inspection work.

        Director Sun Xuan delivered a speech on behalf of the organizing unit and stated that the purpose of holding this conference is to continue to play a leading role in the industry and jointly explore industry difficulties and pain points. The smoke exhaust system is an important facility to ensure the safety of people's lives. We hope to take this conference as an opportunity to unite all parties and better contribute to the engineering application and innovative technology development of smoke exhaust systems in construction projects.

Liu Bin, Secretary General of the Construction Engineering Fire 

Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development

        Liu Bin, on behalf of the Technical Committee for Fire Protection Standardization of Construction Projects of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, delivered a speech and pointed out that fire protection standardization of construction projects is a comprehensive and cross disciplinary work. In recent years, various problems in fire protection technical standards of construction projects have become increasingly prominent. With the release of the General Code for Building Fire Protection and the General Code for Fire Protection Facilities, smoke prevention and exhaust standards will also be updated and revised accordingly. The next step will be to jointly provide technical support with the Construction Research Institute for the preparation of standards.

        More than 200 representatives from the smoke control and exhaust industry attended the conference, with over 10000 online live viewers. This conference focuses on the innovative development of the smoke exhaust industry in China, focusing on the difficulties and pain points of the smoke exhaust profession in the process of engineering construction. It discusses the innovative development model and direction of China's national defense smoke exhaust industry.

At the meeting, Pan Gang, the Technical Director of Roda Skylight, gave a report on the development of the smoke control and exhaust industry, proposing the necessity of linking smoke exhaust windows and ventilation windows; Huang Xingxian, General Manager of Roda Skylight, participated in the roundtable forum on industry development and put forward his own viewpoint -1. The existing standards do not meet the requirements of national promotion of development from high speed to high quality. It is suggested that manufacturers have certain rights and corresponding responsibilities. 2. The industry lacks reverence for testing reports, and testing agencies are only responsible for samples. The products actually applied to projects vary greatly. It is recommended that testing agencies should supervise the quality of enterprise products throughout the entire process and improve the authority of reports.

        This conference focuses on the current situation and future development direction of the smoke control and exhaust industry, adhering to the new development concept of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing, fully leveraging the role of bridges and links, with the goal of promoting the healthy development of the industry, and strengthening industry exchanges and cooperation. The organizers of the conference also proposed an initiative, hoping that the entire industry will work together to promote innovative development in the building fire protection industry, accelerate the improvement of the performance of building fire protection materials and service upgrades, and better continue to promote and promote the high-quality development of the building fire protection industry.
